    Giving Tuesday

    Today is Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world on December 3, 2019 and every day. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. Our team has curated just a few of our favorite charities to get involved with today.

    1.) Marine Toys for Tots

The basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas. The primary goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children. In order to better execute the Program, in 1991 the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation was created at the behest of the Marine Corps.

Our team is in the last days of collection for our annual Toys for Tots toy drive! Stop by our office or contact us for more info on how to help.

Growing food is a key factor in building and supporting healthy and equitable communities in Pittsburgh. Grow Pittsburgh is a nonprofit that serves as a resource and guide for backyard, school and community gardeners, as well as urban farmers across the Greater Pittsburgh region. Every day, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania strive to improve each young person’s life by growing self-esteem, courage, and positive values through all of their programs. Over 7,600 youth come to their Clubhouses or participate in their programs every year to receive tutoring and homework help, technical training, sports, fitness and recreation, arts programs, summer programming, career readiness, or a safe place to be with friends and mentoring. The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. They provide each client with professional attire to secure employment, but they are about much more than simply a new outfit. 5.) Humane Animal Rescue

Humane Animal Rescue is one of the largest animal welfare organizations in Pennsylvania, providing services to tens of thousands of animals each year at their two shelters and wildlife rehabilitation center. Formed in 2017, Humane Animal Rescue is the result of a merger between the Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (established in 1909) and Western Pennsylvania Humane Society (established in 1874), each with independently rich histories of serving our community’s animals in need. The new organization continues the legacies of our predecessors with the task of providing enhanced services to domestic and wild animals alike, while bringing greater efficiency in animal care processes, staff training, and cutting-edge practices to one cohesive organization.
